Since this model has fixed issues from previous generations, resale value should be high, and you will be able to offset the cost of upgrading in the future if you keep the exterior free from blemishes. I recommend purchasing a wrap for the outside of the device. Buy the specs that you only truly need, and you won't regret your purchase. Even my girlfriend, who balked at the purchase price, has been swayed upon seeing and using this laptop. You can get better specs for less money on Windows, but I appreciate the stability of macOS and the ecosystem shared between my other Apple devices. I have received many compliments from people on the build qu. I selected specs that I felt would future-proof this machine for my uses for the next 4-5 years and beyond. I will be utilizing this machine to do video work for a YouTube channel, and plan on using lots of 4k footage and saving it in higher quality before converting to YouTube's compressed format.
